| Objetivou-se com este estudo avaliar o efeito de níveis crescentes de PB sobre o balanço de N e as exigências de proteína metabolizável para mantença em bovinos Nelore. Foram utilizados 12 bovinos Nelore, fistulados no rúmen e no duodeno, de três condições sexuais (quatro fêmeas, quatro machos castrados e quatro machos não-castrados), com idade aproximada de 16 meses e peso corporal médio de 254,8; 285,1 e 265,6 kg, respectivamente. Utilizaram-se três quadrados latinos 4 <FONT FACE=Symbol>´</FONT> 4, compostos de quatro animais, quatro níveis de PB (7, 10, 13 e 15%) e quatro períodos. | The objective of this study was to estimate and evaluate the contents of apparently digestible fractions of crude protein, ether extract and non-fibrous carbohydrates, the digestible fraction of the neutral detergent fiber and the content of total digestible nutrients (TDN) from the chemical composition of feeds in growing cattle fed different diets. Fourteen F1 Red Angus × Nellore young bulls with average age and weight of 12 months and 287±36 kg were used. | The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of supplementation with nitrogenous compounds on intake, digestibility, and rumen microbial synthesis in cattle fed low-quality tropical forage. Five crossbred heifers, averaging 209 kg and fitted with ruminal fistulla, were used. The animals were fed ad libitum with signal grass (Brachiaria decumbens Stapf.) hay, which had crude protein (CP) content of 5.08%, as dry matter (DM) basis. | The objective of this study was to evaluate the efficiency of using nylon textiles (50 μm), F57 (Ankom®) and non-woven textile (NWT - 100 g/m²) on laboratory evaluation of neutral detergent fiber (NDF) by using quantitative filter paper as purified cellulose standard and by simulating different composition of samples with additions of corn starch, pectin, casein and soybean oil.
